Website Planning Process
It is of the utmost importance to us that you are absolutely delighted with your new website, so time must be taken to get it right.
We believe in fostering close working relationships with our clients to ensure that we create works of extremely high standards, and constantly achieve total customer satisfaction. With this in mind, we start the first stage of the design process by meeting with the client and listening to what proposals they have for their site.
Initial meeting
We will discuss all aspects of the customer's requirements. For example; the type of site required, colours, size, content. etc. Questions from the client are welcomed and encouraged as we try to gather as much information as possible at this time. We will make design suggestions and recommendations regarding your site, and find solutions and alternatives to any problems that may present themselves along the way. The result of this first meeting should lead to the production of a design brief from which initial ideas can be shown to the client.
Design brief
A design brief explains everything that a designer needs to know about the website, including design-style, type of content and various other technical and aesthetic requirements.
Initial designs
Based on the design brief, we'll produce a number of samples that we think are appropriate for your requirements. We'll send these by email - allowing you to view them on-screen, or print them out if you require copies to show to other parties.
Now is the time when you must try to be as critical as possible, and choose the design or designs that are most in tune with your company's identity. You may want to combine elements from more than one design, we can do that, no problem. It's most important though that you voice honest opinions about the initial designs.
Further designs & feedback
The feedback process will have provided us with enough information to be able to focus on one of our initial designs and adapt it to suit your requirements. We will then take your comments, opinions and requests, and fuse them into that design to provide you with a second draft.
We always ask that the client bears in mind that once the website is to be built, we have much less flexibility over design changes, so this is the stage where we try and get everything together. It usually consists of very minor alterations such as changing a font size or tweaking a colour here and there. After this, if the client is satisfied, we go ahead with the build.
Website build
This stage is always a favourite with the client, because you finally get to see your new website as it will be seen online. We'll keep you up to date with progress throughout this stage. We'll also use this time to arrange hosting and email addresses, ensuring that the site can go live as soon as you're happy with everything.
That's it - you're up and running!
We try to keep in regular contact with all our clients, and constantly review all the websites in our portfolio. From time to time we may email you with suggestions or new examples of our work.
There will also be occasions when you will need advice, information or guidance on the operation of your website and WebCommerceSolutions are only an email or phone call away - we're always happy to help.
